GIGN 50 ans d’intervention

Depuis 2021 et sa mutation au format 3.0, le GIGN regroupe environ un millier de gendarmes. Les effectifs sont basés à Satory et dans les quatorze antennes situées dans l’Hexagone et les territoires ultramarins.
Ils n’étaient que dix-huit gendarmes aux premières heures de sa création, en 1974, sous le commandement du jeune lieutenant Christian Prouteau. Ils sont aujourd’hui près d’un millier à œuvrer pour la protection de nos concitoyens et de nos intérêts sur le territoire national et à l’étranger. Toujours au cœur de l’action, le Groupe d’intervention de la Gendarmerie nationale (GIGN) s’engage au quotidien pour la vie.
Les télécommunications sont gérées par un groupe d’experts au sein de l’unité centrale.
