La Côte d’Ivoire : base opérationnelle avancée stratégique

L’exercice Hermès a permis aux équipiers de la CCT FS de s’entraîner à réagir face à une attaque de GAT. Les membres de la CCT FS ne sont pas destinés à mener des actions offensives, mais ils doivent être capables de faire face à toutes les situations sur le terrain afin de reprendre rapidement l’avantage en cas de contact avec l’ennemi.
Créées en 2015, les Forces françaises en Côte d’Ivoire (FFCI) constituent une base avancée en Afrique de l’Ouest. Elles assurent notamment un relais opérationnel pour la France dans une zone d’intérêt de plus en plus convoitée par les groupes armés terroristes (GAT). Il y a quelques semaines, RAIDS était sur place afin de faire un point sur les forces en présence et pour participer à deux exercices majeurs des forces spéciales Terre.
Fin mars 2021, trois hélicoptères du 4e RHFS ont participé à l’exercice Monfreid organisé par le Commandement des forces spéciales terre. Comme nous avons pu l’observer sur le terrain, la coordination des pilotes en vol est telle qu’ils sont capables de mettre une pression continue sur un groupe armé terroriste (GAT) avant de déposer des commandos au sol.
